We are GIGABLUE - a climate-tech startup, passionately working on innovative ways to combat global warming. A team of thinkers, innovators, and environmental enthusiasts, all gathered under Gigablue’s R&D center, based in Caesarea’s industrial park. Taking cues from nature itself, we're developing breakthrough technologies that harness the power of the ocean for Carbon Dioxide Removal (CDR).
Key accountabilities
- Perform laboratory work in the field of marine microbiology, including experiment planning, preparations and sampling, as well as data collection, analysis, conclusion derivation and experiments summary.
- Obtain a thorough understanding of the biochemical fundamentals of microbial phenomena and environments.

- At least a third- year B.Sc. student in marine biology, biology, bio-medical, bio-technology.
- engineering with microbiology skills.
- Light / fluorescence Microscopy.
- Working within a biological hood and sterile environments.
- Growing and maintaining microbial inoculums or cell cultures (experience with microalgal cultures - an advantage).
- Knowledge in cell counting techniques (an advantage).
- Holds basic laboratory skills, including fundamental microbial laboratory practices and protocols.
- Proficiency in reading and comprehending scientific papers, with the ability to conduct basic literature reviews and extract data from scientific sources.
- Hands-on approach and ability to independently execute laboratory practices, protocols and documentation.
- A team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Quick learner.
- Critical thinker.
- Excellent capabilities in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- Part-time position: 2 to 3 days a week (on site).
